Staff was very welcoming and had great communication throughout the whole journey. Doctors were straight to the point and answered every question I had. The whole process was so fast and the results were even more amazing! 4 hours after and I felt like a whole new person. Very thankful for how informative and supportive the whole staff were! Highly recommend for everyone that wears glasses! Thanks Lasik Plus!
I got LASIK on February 27, 2025, and it’s something I had been thinking about for most of my life since I’ve worn glasses since second grade. I came in January for my free consultation and to schedule my LASIK appointment, and from the very beginning everyone was so kind, welcoming, and professional. On the day of my procedure, I was very anxious, but the staff did an amazing job helping me feel comfortable and reassured throughout the entire process. They talked me through everything, which really helped calm my nerves. The procedure itself went very smoothly. Afterward, I went home and rested for about four hours as instructed. I wasn’t in any real pain—my eyes felt a little irritated and burned slightly at first, but after resting, I had no pain at all. They even gave me Tylenol PM before I left to help with any discomfort. I came back the next day for my follow-up appointment, and everything looked great. The staff was just as supportive and happy for me as they were on day one. Now, almost a year later, I’ve had absolutely no issues. This was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. I highly recommend it to anyone considering LASIK.
Pretty good experience. Staff were very efficient and got things moving right along. The procedure itself only took about 10 minutes from laying down to standing up. Staff were fun and did a decent job of keeping the mood light so as to help with any anxiety. I didn't have any but I recognize it as a tactic that would help who do. The first 4 hours after treatment had a decent amount of burning and eye irritation.....almost like a laser had just cut into them.... But after that it became really manageable and the next morning I was feeling fine with just eye watering to deal with. I suggest getting facial tissues with lotion since you'll be blowing your nose and wiping away tears constantly. Just to be nice to your face. Also take a Tylenol PM immediately after the procedure to help you sleep. There's no reason to be awake during the 4 hours that you have to have your eyes closed before starting your eye drops. All in all I'm happy and both eyes are at least 20/20 with my left eye being just a bit sharper. Which is good because that's my dominant eye; I'm one of those weirdo's whose left eye dominant but shoots pistols right handed and rifles/bows left handed. Overall 10/10.
I’m so happy with my decision! I’ve had glasses for over 20yrs. The staff are super friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. They answered every question I had and made sure I was comfortable every step. The procedure was painless and FAST. I can’t wait to finish my healing journey. I had a high prescription. Without my glasses I couldn’t see a thing. I’m happy I don’t have to deal with the glasses hunt, the scratches, fingerprints, getting stuck in my hair, and constantly pushing them up. I highly recommend LASIK+ in Oakdale.
5 stars! Just had my LASIK done yesterday 2/19/26. The Oakdale, MN team is awesome. So friendly and efficient. Will recommend them to anyone looking into getting lasik done. My mom drove me home from my appt and wanted me to add that the ladies/techs at the front were very nice and welcoming. From scheduling at my initial consultation to the post-op check, everyone was kind and informative and made everything easy and comfortable. This definitely helps with any nerves you may have about the procedure.
Incidents
One reviewer said: "I called the Oakdale Lasik Plus office and was told they couldn't help me. I was told that I would need to see a regular eye doctor and that there was nothing they could do. They even refused an appointment."
Two reviewers said touch ups weren't available: "They caused the problem but only offer care for 3 months following surgery", and "LasikPlus Woodbury does not honor their contract. Eye doctor said it was time for a correction. Followed all the procedures and LP denied me. Don't believe their lifetime correction claims."
Patients said they referred patient to another facility, but didn't offer to pay for the appointment at the other facility
There were about a dozen incident reviews, which is very helpful because it makes an evaluation of their incident handling process possible. Based on the reviews, it seems this facility seems to follow the procedures for incidents seen at other LasikPlus locations.
TreatScore Methodology
TreatScore tries to objectively rate providers using publicly available data. TreatCost's commentary should not affect TreatScore.
Positive Experience Weight: 85%
In a study finished in 2011, 95% of patients were satisfied their LASIK eye surgery. We want to reflect this in our scoring.
New technology like Contoura / Wavefront, ICL, and other types of vision correction surgery may result in even higher positive outcome rates. Given this and the large number of online reviews of LASIK available, we feel star ratings and comments from consumer review sites like Google Maps are the best representation of LASIK quality when surgery is successful. For centers which only perform LASIK and related surgeries, we use every rating in the score. For locations which perform more types of ophthalmic surgery and other types of vision appointments, we consider both their overall rating (50%) and the rating for patients who mention LASIK, PRK, or a related surgery in their review (50%).
Incident Management Weight: 15%
Although only a small fraction of patients have negative outcomes from LASIK, the disproportionate effects from a failed surgery mean we give them a disproportionately higher weight.
Our goal is to convey how well (or poorly) your case would be handled if your surgery failed. To that end, our Incident ratings are calculated from 3 equally weighed elements:
- Incident acknowledgement: Whether the provider acknowledges incidents
- Second surgery offer: Whether the provider tries to fix failed surgeries for patients at no cost to the patient
- 3rd party offer: Whether the provider refers patients to a 3rd party for a surgical or other fix at no cost to the patient
Why do we use these criteria?
- Incident acknowledgement: To receive remediative care patients must know such care is available. If a provider acknowledges an incident early, that can help patients
- Second surgery offer: We have reviewed hundreds of LASIK reviews, and in many cases providers offer to fix failed surgeries with a subsequent surgery. Because many providers offer this service, we assume it is effective and we include it in our Incident Management review. If the provider refers all patients to a 3rd party at no cost to the patient then they get a perfect score
- 3rd party offer: In reviewing dozens of patient incident stories, we found many patients refused to allow their original surgeon to operate on them again for fear of a second failure. For these patients, we know they often seek a 3rd party service to help them, and in TreatCost's opinion the original provider should pay for that service
These criteria are not comprehensive. TreatScore includes multiple data sources, but we do not always include every piece of information in our score. TreatScore is intended to be a starting point to help patients understand the experiences of other patients, so all calculations are based on patient reviews and patient incident reports. If you are a provider and want to improve your score, we recommend asking patients who experience an incident to post their experience online and then send TreatCost.com a link to this content via our Feedback Form.
